If you have two careers in front of you, one based on your aptitude the other based on your personality. Which should you choose? eg- I have very stable hands, I am calm under pressure e.t.c so an advisor told me I should be a surgeon. But I like competion and movement in my job. What should I do?

Nimisha Gupta 16th May, 2020

Hello Arnav,

Generally when we are given two options for our career we want to take the one which gives us ultimate satisfaction in life.

There are always so many people trying to give there opinions but in the end it always matters what we want to do.

If someone is giving you a option for becoming a surgeon but you don't want that for yourself then simply don't do it. Because everytime you would be deceiving yourself only by thinking what if I had chosen something else.

My advice is to go for the thing that most excites you.

Good luck!

If a Surgeon after completing MBBS and MS, if he/she writes UPSC exam, What kind of job will they get and What will be their Salary?

pdwords Student Expert 1st May, 2020
Hello,
See,eligibility for UPSC is based on graduation and candidates from all background can apply here, there's not even specific aggregate requirement here, so whether you've done MBBS, MD or even higher studies, if you qualify prelims, mains and interview which are the three stages of examination and joins the probation period for a duration of two year, you still have to start your journey as SDM which is Sub Divisional Magistrate if you qualify for IAS, and it doesn't matter who possess the highest qualifications, it's not going to change, yes the ranks will decide as the top posts goes to IAS only and then IPS, so on and so forth. But, the recruitment process is more based on how you fare in the exam, and ranks you get eventually.

What Salary can a Neurosurgeon expect, if he/she start a private practice in any one of Metropolitan Cities in India?

Udit Narayan 10th Jun, 2020

Hello,

If He/She starts his/her own clinic than there is no fixed salary that can be assumed. It will be on the basis of the profit and that will be based on the cost of services provided, in a private practice clinic in any metropolitan cities in India it is about the business you run and what services you can provide and at which cost that will decide your salary/profit.

While its best to start working as an intern in any hospital than work as an doctor and learn and gain as much experience as possible. Because good money comes with Experience, An entry level neurosurgeon (1-3 years of experience) earns an average salary of 23,24,654 . On the other end, a senior level neurosurgeon (8+ years of experience) earns an average salary of 60,99,264.

I hope it helps you to decide.

Dear Raja Ram,

Its great to hear that ,

To become a Neurosurgeon you must be do some hard work for that ,like completed your high school,Bachelor's degree in Science stream then after go for Medical college entrance test and completed your undergraduate course with Medical college and national licensing .After that you can go through any internship as per your interest and most of internships are paid ,but as per your query  if you wants to  learn then no one will pay for that but if you have degree certificate then you can earn money and without certificate if you wants to do some job like medical fields or part time job such as Medical Reporter then its illegal but if you student of medical science and during the course if you wants to earn and learn something then you can . There are lots of private clinic ,hospitals ,labs are available across India where you can earn part more as a part time job for achieve your goal.

I hope it will helpful to you & best of luck for your future

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 26th Apr, 2020
Soud, to study to become any Surgeon, first iff, you need to study Biology in your 12th. Surgery is a Post Graduate Medical course and NEET is the entrance examination for admission to Medical courses across India. To be eligible for NEET, you should have completed your 12th in Physics, Chemistry and Biology as core subjects. You should also secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in these 3 subjects in your 12th. It is 50% for General Category, 45% for PWD and 40% for OBC, SC, ST. Now once you appear for NEET, if you get a MBBS seat, you should complete the course along with mandatory 1 year internship and then apply for MS. Rigjt now NEET PG is the entrance examination but it will be changed to NEXT in the coming 3 years.
