Whats the average salary a doctor gets who has completed his md

samra raza 22nd Mar, 2019

Hello Aspirant,

The average salary of an MD recruited in a renowned hospital can range from 40,000-3,00,000. Starting years of every career is full of struggle. Starting salary might not be very high but as the employee gets permanent it tends to raise. There are plenty of government jobs where salary is again reasonable upto 1,50,000 or even more sometimes. Private clinics income is dependent upon many factors like the capability of the doctor, people of the near by areas, doctors in the near by area and experience so no body can exactly estimate the income.

I hope it helps.

Thanks

how much amount will be paid for house surgeons in south indian deemed medicalcolleges during there internship?

Hrishikesh Das 15th Mar, 2019

As per a MCI notification, recommendations are being asked for uniform internship stipend all over India and if it applies then all interns will get the same irrespective of college. The highest in India is as of now in AIIMS and other Central colleges in 23500 every month for a duration of 12 months. So, other colleges might get in the range of 17k-20k as a guess even if not at par with AIIMS.

Iwant to know if there is any course in india where i can become cardiothiracic surgeon directly after completing M.B.B.S.

Harsh Tomar 24th Feb, 2019
Hello,
Cardiac surgeons must complete four years of college, four years of medical school, a 5-year general surgery residency and a 2-3 year specialized cardio or cardiothoracic fellowship.Surgeons who wish to specialize further in pediatric cardiology or heart transplant surgeries may require additional training.
I would suggest MBBS followed by MS in General Surgery followed by MCH or DNB in Cardiothoracic surgery.
Thankyou

Ho2 much should I score in neet ug ,to be admitted in bmc college ??

masteranshu27 23rd Feb, 2019
If we go by the trends, the cut offs for Bangalore Medical College (BMC) are in the range -

1. 85 percent State Quota Unreserved Category - 550-560

2. 15 percent All India Quota Unreserved Category - 580-600

Keeping in mind cut off varies from year to year, I would suggest you to target for score of 570+ to get a seat in BMC via State Quota or for a score of 600+ to get a seat in BMC via All India Quota.

What is the monthly income range of a surgeon?

shivam pandey 18th Feb, 2019
Heyy Gourab Maji.....

It's a bit difficult to answer. The earnings of a surgeon depends on where does the surgeon practice & the type of practice. The average salary for a General Surgeon is above Rs 10 lacs per year. Experience strongly influences payscale for this job.Surgeons in Govt institutions get fixed salary and the surgeons in private institutions take home approx 40% (after taxes) of their listed fee as the hospital. In CNN Money feature, general surgeons ranked second place in the “20 Highest-Paying Jobs”.

WHICH ONE IS BETTER TO START CAREER...GYNIOBS(MS) OR GENERAL SURGERY (MS)...???

M.Chielie 20th Feb, 2019

MS in Ob/Gyn means a master in general surgery in the branch of obstetrics and gynaecology. Obstetrics is the branch that deals with pregnancy and childbirth. It deals with the prenatal, pregnancy and post natal in women. Gynaecology deals with the study of the female reproductive system. This includes all the reproductive organs. The post graduate program for Ob/ Gyn provides a three year degree course for specialization in these two fields through a single program. To be eligible for this course ,you must have a degree in MBBS. There is huge demand for specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology in many rural communities across India . According to the National rural health mission ,rural communities  only have 23 percentage of the obstetrician that they require.
In the case of MS in general surgery , it is the specialization in the branch of treating injuries or diseases by operative procedure.  It is a three year duration course and the eligibility is an MBBS. degree.  Depending on the type of hospital that the surgeon works in ,he will handle all kinds of surgical procedures.

The pay of a general surgeon varies from ₹30,000 to more than 2 lakhs per month basing on the sector that one is employed and also experience. With more specialization ,a surgeon can increase his salary further . For ob/Gyn specialists ,salary ranges from ₹25000 to lakhs  differing due to sectors of employment.  In surgery ,to Ivan specialise  in different types such as  trauma surgery, laparoscopic surgery , surgical oncology ,pediatrics surgery , cardiothoracic  surgery and many more. With such specialization , the pay range of a surgeon can increase much more when compared to the obstetrics and gynaecology surgeon. And also with more experience ,a surgeon's pay increases much more when compared to other doctors and the demand for experienced surgeons is more.

So coming back to your question of whether it is better to start your career with post graduation in general surgery or obstetrics and gynaecology, I would have to say that it's a personal choice or personal preference because with both branches ,there is huge opportunity for employment and the pay is also good. When it come to the salary, surgeons may have a slight edge over obstetrics and gynaecology if they have more specialization and experience and are in demand .

Lastly , i would say that the decision to go for any of the branch lies on your personal preference and if you have preference for any of the branch more than the other for any personal reason, then i would suggest that you go for that specialization as the pay and opportunities for both are almost equal and similar and both would be an equally good choice to start your career as a specialist.
