Question : Directions: Select the set in which the numbers are related in the same way as the numbers of the following set.
(NOTE: Operations should be performed on the whole numbers, without breaking down the numbers into their constituent digits.)
(36, 90, 18)
(15, 35, 8)

Option 1: (14, 45, 5)

Option 2: (14, 42, 7)

Option 3: (13, 78, 6)

Option 4: (12, 60, 8)

Team Careers360 25th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: (14, 45, 5)

Solution : Given:
(36, 90, 18); (15, 35, 8)

Here, (36, 90, 18)→(36 – 18) × 5 = 18 × 5 = 90
(15, 35, 8)→(15 – 8) × 5 = 7 × 5 = 35

Let's check the options –
First option: (14, 45, 5)→(14 – 5) × 5 = 9 × 5 = 45
Second option: (14, 42, 7)→(14 – 7) × 5 = 7 × 5 = 35 ≠ 42
Third option: (13, 78, 6)→(13 – 6) × 5 = 7 × 5 = 35 ≠ 78
Fourth option: (12, 60, 8)→(12 – 8) × 5 = 4 × 5 = 20 ≠ 60

So, only the first option follows the given pattern as followed by the given set of numbers. Hence, the first option is correct.

Question : Directions: Select the set in which the numbers are related in the same way as the numbers of the following sets.(NOTE: Operations should be performed on the whole numbers, without breaking down the numbers into their constituent digits. E. g 13 – operations on 13 such as adding/subtracting multiplying etc. to 13 can be performed. Breaking down 13 into 1 and 3 and then performing mathematical operations on 1 and 3 is not allowed.)
(2, 7, 81)
(5, 6,121)

Option 1: (7, 5, 134)

Option 2: (5, 4,100)

Option 3: (6, 2, 36)

Option 4: (6, 7,169)

Team Careers360 6th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: (6, 7,169)

Solution : Given:
(2, 7, 81); (5, 6,121)

Add the first and second numbers and square the resultant, to get the third number –
⇒ (2, 7, 81)→(2 + 7)2 = 81
⇒ (5, 6,121)→(5 + 6)2 = 121

Let's check each option –
First option: (7, 5,134)→(7 + 5)2 = 144 ≠ 134
Second option: (5, 4,100)→(5 + 4)2 = 81 ≠ 100
Third option: (6, 2, 36)→(6 + 2)2 = 64 ≠ 36
Fourth option: (6, 7,169)→(6 + 7)2 = 169

So, only the fourth option follows the same pattern as the given pair. Hence, the fourth option is correct.

Question : Directions: Select the set in which the numbers are related in the same way as the numbers of the following sets.
(NOTE: Operations should be performed on the whole numbers, without breaking down the numbers into their constituent digits. E.g. 13 - operations on 13 such as adding/subtracting/multiplying etc. to 13 can be performed. Breaking down 13 into 1 and 3 and then performing mathematical operations on 1 and 3 is not allowed.)
(36, 6, 18)
(35, 5, 21)

Option 1: (49, 7, 21)

Option 2: (63, 7, 98)

Option 3: (100, 5, 40)

Option 4: (76, 13, 5)

Team Careers360 4th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: (49, 7, 21)

Solution : Given:
(36, 6, 18); (35, 5, 21)

In the given sets, multiply the second and third numbers, and then divide the resultant by 3 to get the first number –
(36, 6, 18)→6 × 18 = 108; 108 ÷ 3 = 36
(35, 5, 21)→5 × 21 = 105; 105 ÷ 3 = 35
Let's check the given options –
First option: (49, 7, 21)→7 × 21 = 147; 147 ÷ 3 = 49
Second option: (63, 7, 98)→7 × 98 = 686; 686 ÷ 3 = 228.67
≠ 63
Third option: (100, 5, 40)→5 × 40 = 200; 200 ÷ 3 = 66.67 ≠ 100
Fourth option: (76, 13, 5)→13 × 5 = 65; 65 ÷ 3 = 21.67 ≠ 76

So, only the first option follows the same pattern as followed by the given set of numbers. Hence, the first option is correct.

Question : Directions: Select the option in which the numbers share the same relationship in the set as that shared by the numbers in the given set. (NOTE: Operations should be performed on the whole numbers, without breaking down the numbers into their constituent digits. E.g.13 – operations on 13 such as adding /subtracting /multiplying etc. to 13 can be performed. Breaking down 13 into 1 and 3 and then performing mathematical operations on 1 and 3 is not allowed.)
(83, 119, 168)
(76, 101, 137)

Option 1: (84, 100, 149)

Option 2: (78, 87, 103)

Option 3: (42, 46, 62)

Option 4: (36, 52, 88)

Team Careers360 23rd Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: (78, 87, 103)

Solution : Given:
(83, 119, 168); (76, 101, 137)

The difference between the first and second numbers and the second and third numbers are the squares of consecutive natural numbers –
(83, 119, 168)→119 – 83 = 36 = 62; 168 – 119 = 49 = 72
(76, 101, 137)→101 – 76 = 25 = 52; 137 – 101 = 36 = 62

Let's check the options –
First option: (84, 100, 149)→100 – 84 = 16 = 42; 149 – 100 = 49 = 72
Second option: (78, 87, 103)→87 – 78 = 9 = 32; 103 – 87 = 16 = 42
Third option: (42, 46, 62)→46 – 42 = 4 = 22; 62 – 46 = 16 = 42
Fourth option: (36, 52, 88)→52 – 36 = 16 = 42; 88 – 52 = 36 = 62

So, only the second option follows the same pattern as followed by the given set of numbers. Hence, the second option is correct.

(240, 55, 65)
(320, 85, 75)

Option 1: (140, 35, 25)

Option 2: (220, 90, 15)

Option 3: (160, 35, 45)

Option 4: (200, 5, 105)

Team Careers360 15th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: (160, 35, 45)

Solution : Given:
(240, 55, 65); (320, 85, 75)

Add the second and the third number and multiply the resultant by 2 to get the first number.
(240, 55, 65)→55 + 65 = 120; 120 × 2 = 240
(320, 85, 75)→75 + 85 = 160; 160 × 2 = 320

Let's check each option –
First option: (140, 35, 25)→35 + 25 = 60; 60 × 2 = 120 ≠ 140
Second option: (220, 90, 15)→90 + 15 = 105; 105 × 2 = 210 ≠ 220
Third option: (160, 35, 45)→35 + 45 = 80; 80 × 2 = 160
Fourth option: (200, 5, 105)→105 + 5 = 110; 110 × 2 = 220 ≠ 200

So, only the third option follows the same pattern as followed by the given set of numbers. Hence, the third option is correct.

how can I prepare IAS from 7th and how can I set my timetable

shivamtrivedi0005 31st Oct, 2023

Hello aspirant,

I believe that you are perhaps a little too young to be making preparations at this time.

It will still be another eight to ten years before you are even qualified to take the test. However, there is never a bad time to learn. The best thing you can do right now is read through each NCERT carefully. You should continue to do this even after moving on to the following standard. NCERT is the most crucial resource for preparation, which is why I say this.

You'll find it much simpler when you do begin your preparations a few years later.

Thank you

Hope it helps you.
