Admissions in Sastra University is based upon 2 categories.
1st category: 85% of total seats are filled upon by the JEE mains marks and the 12th marks.
2nd category: Remaining 15% of the seats are filled only based upon the marks secured in the 12th grade or PUC or intermediate 2nd year or any other equivalent boards.
You have secured 87%, a decent percentage in 12th std. But you didn't mention whether you have written JEE exam or not.
So, you can claim a seat in category 2 , but only 15% of the seats are filled through it. If luck praises you, you can also get a seat through category 2.
There are slightly less chances for getting a seat through category 2. If you have written JEE MAINS, you can opt a seat through category 1 also.

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) Counselling is conducted by Anna University to fill the engineering seats across Tamil Nadu.
TNEA admission process is based only upon the cutoff marks scored in 12th class, not based upon the 12th standard percentage. To calculate the cutoff marks, refer the formula given below,
Cutoff = M + (P/2) + (C/2)
where M denotes the Mathematics marks, P stands for the marks scored in Physics subject and C stands for the marks scored in Chemistry subject.
After calculating the cutoff, you can visit the previous year cutoffs link provided in the official website of TNEA for your further reference. After the release of rank list, you can also visit the TNEA college predictor which is given in the below link,
https://engineering.careers360.com/tnea-college-predictor
