.
To be eligible to get admission through EAMCET one needs to qualify in EAMCET. For candidates belonging to general category he/she must score minimum 40 marks out of 160 marks in EAMCET. But scoring just the qualifying mark may not enable the candidate to secure admission in a college. So you need to score minimum 80-100 marks to get seat in a decent institute. If you wish to get admission in State government University then you need to score minimum 120-130 marks or about in EAMCET. Seat allotment depends on the rank of the candidate, total number of seats available, cut off rank, category and total number of candidates applied for counselling. Cut off changes every year depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

As far as I can tell, the branch is typical. According to several alumni from earlier years, it was one of the best. The Pantnagar branches don't differ all that much. Although certain branches do have advantages over others, the overall state is the same. Although I don't know much about the Civil branch, every branch has the "smell" of Pantnagar in it, with seldom seen excited professors, students suffering with the system, no motivation, limits everywhere, and others. The IT department classes are the lowest attended, and the Mechanical Engineering classes have well-qualified teachers, just like they do.
So, if you want to succeed in a field, don't rely on professors; do everything yourself. You'll have plenty of time and few distractions to do it.
All you have to do is adjust and navigate this place. Many former students followed their examples and are now in great positions.
