Generally speaking the eligibility criteria for MCA is passed BCA/BSc/BCom or any other equivalent degree from a recognized university securing 50% aggregate or above, also mathematics as a subject at either 10+2 level or graduation is compulsory in most cases, so depending upon the institute you are considering for admission, you have to check out the eligibility criteria in order to see if you fulfill it or not, there are also options for open universities such as IGNOU regarding this which candidates from other backgrounds are eligible to apply, but it's important that you comprehend what are your career goals after MCA, since it's a deviation from your BSc Botany degree, what are the job profiles you want to target, even if you pursue MCA, will that be enough, what about the skills and experience, a person coming from technical background is definitely more aligned in terms of pursuing MCA course, so please think with clarity prior to taking any decision, one way to judge this can be pursue some short terms technical courses, today there are plethora of options in online mode that is MOOCs, and then take up internships, and see how you fare well, and then take decision accordingly.
there are other options also you can look out such as MBA as candidates from any background can pursue this course unlike MCA where there may be restrictions in terms of having studied mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 or graduation level, you can go for higher studies such as MSc and followed it by appearing for CSIR NET in life science, and become lecturer or there are SETs conducted at state level for the recruitment of assistant professor, in case of teaching in school, BEd is compulsory, you can appear for CTET or state level TETs, you can also pursue LLB, it's quite a good option. there are also government exams such as UPSC, state PSCs, banking exams of clerk/po, SSC CGL, Railways to name a few.
By a notification from UGC it has been asked to all universities to treat applied Mathematics at par with core mathematics in calculating of aggregate marks of senior secondary level for admission in Bcom Hons, economics, and social science course other than BSc courses.
Hope this will help.
Dear aspirant,
As far as your problem is concerned, and considering you have changed your residence and now you are not able to get the certificate so I would like to tell you that if you have cleared ugc net with the help of this unreserved category then i would say kindly try to take out the certificate because it would be difficult for you during documents verification.
First of all congratulations on achieving 99.93 percentile in ugc net . Considering you are from obc category ,you can absolutely apply for the job as an assistant professor in the un reserved category.
Generally there is no such reservation in the un , anyone can apply for it if they have cleared the cut offs.
