BSc forestry and veterinary doctor which is the best ?? From both of these what is the possibility for government job

Vishnupriya 7th Jul, 2019

Hi,

B.Sc in Forestry is gaining more popularity day by day. B.V.Sc is a good course, but doesnot have much scope in India, especially that you prefer government jobs.

There are many government jobs related to the field of B.Sc in Foresty and also there are private sectors hiring these graduates. While, candidates who take up B.V.Sc can go for abroad nations like Canada, where the course is of much value.

Veterinary doctor starting salary

Mahek 27th May, 2019

Hello Prasad,

As a veterinary graduate/post graduate, you have a couple of options:

1. As an academician: it will be around 50,000 per month depending on where you work, whether it is full time or part time. For this you need PG and NET clearance, though.

2. As an assistant to a practicing Veterinary surgeon: you will work here in your initial years to get training until you’re ready to open your own clinic. You’ll learn a couple of thousands lesser than as an academician. Possibly somewhere between INR 30,000 to INR 50,000.

3. In researc: (as jrf/srf) this will mostly depend on your funding. So you can expect something around INR 20,000. This is usually as a stipend while pursuing PG Studies

4. As a part of private sector- You can expect around INR 30,000 to 35,000 depending on which industry you choose dairy, poultry, etc.

you can also work as a private practitioner, but that will require an initial investment and maybe struggle till your practice is established.

Is AAU-VET tougher than NEET? I want to to be a veterinary doctor.

ojaswiyolo Student Expert 2nd Jul, 2019

 Hello

When preparing for MBBS or BDS then, NEET is the best option.  You can go for AAU VET if you career choice is in veterinary science. If you want to get a seat in BVSc from your NEET marks you have to get above 450 out of 720 (not as easy as it sounds)  for good government Vet colleges. You can also give the vet entrance exams for other states havin more number of seats for BVSc like karnataka, orissa and west bengal. AAU has around 130 seats in all for BVSc whereas NEET has 15% of all the seats in BVSc under different reputed vet colleges .

The level of exam depends on the number of applicants appearing in the respective exam along with the future options one get after taking the concerned course. All the best.
