Career in biotechnology medicine give me detail about it?

Himanshu Malik 11th Apr, 2019

Dear aspirant....!!

Biotechnology has made significant place in India. Under this field, all the possible fields, such as pharmaceuticals, food manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, education, and research related work have become involved. In addition to the said fields, contributions to biotechnology cannot be overlooked in many other fields.

Regardless of the issues related to bioinformatics that have revolutionized Biofertilizers, Biopesticides, Green Revolution or IT field, Biotechnology is providing a lot of employment opportunities for the youth of India. Now we mention the different areas that have great potential for the unprecedented development of the career of students studying biotechnology.

The scope of Veterinary science is very vast.Though, I would try to compile it in a short answer.

There are a lot of options to choose from after you finish you studies :

1) Research. You can either go for Masters here in India or abroad. A lot of my batch mates have done their research abroad especially in European countries.

If you want to go for this option then you have to prepare early, right from your 3rd year of the degree for TOEFL and G.R.E.You need to have some research experience which you can gain by working in the Departments of you interest and help out PHD students in their research and get your name in published articles/abstracts.

Having reference letters from the HOD helps a lot. So, for these things to work out you need to develop good relations with your professors and HOD so that they give you these letters.

2) Pet clinic. You can either work at a Pet clinic to gain more experience or open up your own clinic.Again if you want to have your own pet clinic then you must start planning at least from your 4th year and start gaining experience from working in the college/University clinic.

3) Government Recruitment. This is unreliable but a good option if you are interested to be in Govt. job. There is less competition than others as the number of Veterinarians are less.

4) Corporate or Pvt. Jobs. A lot of options are available right from Marketing & sales to Production & quality control mainly in pharma

How many marks get in Jimper Xam For Veterinary Doctor for ST Students....??

G Swetha 14th Mar, 2019

Hello ,

As every student is now interested and very crazy about this medical field ,so there's tough competition all over India .As well as the admission in any govt college is completely based on the merit on the student in the examination . And even cutoff varies every year according to the difficulty level and no of seats available .it also depends on the basis of reservation categories like SC ,St ,obc ,unreserved etc.The last rank which got admission in veterinary hospital for unreserved category is 301707 .So it is very hard to predict how much marks you need to score ,but to be on safer side ,350 + is better .Good luck and thank you.

I want to become veterinary doctor is neet required for it

Alistair Toppo 4th Feb, 2019

Hi Barsa!

to be a verterniary doctor prior to that you'll need a basic bachelor degree of medical sceince. prospective the verternians need a bachelor's degree to qualify in  any veterinary college. While there isn't any specific required but a basic idea about chemistry and physics is good.

Also there are numerous medical colleges if you are looking for both in state and national perspective.

And apart from NEET there are many medical entrances test which you can apply for and some are often been conducted twice a year.

Hope this answers your query, all the best

cheers!

In this course jobs are available???

Debosmitha Bhattacharyya Student Expert 29th Jan, 2019

Hello Ashish,

Honestly speaking, veterinary medicine in India does not have as much scope and demand as far as human medicine and surgery is concerned.

To study bachelors in veterinary is indeed a matter of your interest and choice, but the success rate of yours in this field depends on how hard you work with your subject. Veterinary medicine is given a lot of importance abroad. In India, after bachelors degree, you can either start a pet clinic of your own and make a lot of money or apply for govt. or private posts from time to time in various veterinary hospitals to practice and earn.

The better choice is to do your masters in veterinary medicine abroad and then practice and settle down there only.

In India, the chances of succeeding in this science are less because of less demand and opportunities.

Good luck!
