i am general female with 83.9 percentile. any chance of cse in nit, gfti and iiit

Mitali Sharma 13th Feb, 2025

Hello

With 83.9 percentile in JEE Mains and being from the General category (female) getting CSE in NITs , IIITs or GFTIs will be quite challenging.

However, you might have chances in:

NITs :

CSE is unlikely in top and mid-tier NITs.

Lower NITs might be possible for non-core branches like Mechanical, Civil, Metallurgy, or Biotechnology.

IIITs:

IIITs specializing in CSE (like IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Allahabad, etc.) require a much higher percentile.

You may have a slight chance in newer IIITs for branches like ECE, IT, or Data Science.

GFTIs:

Some GFTIs may offer CSE or IT related branches at your percentile, depending on the state quota.

hope this helps you .

my sister got 90.4 percentile sc+female category should she now focus on jee adv purely or jee main april as we r pretty sure that he has cleared mains cutoff actually had an accident on 5th jan 12 stitches on hand and regular ot was going on... however the preparation was pretty good almost in all adv mocks scored above 50 percent ..now completely devastated...

sadafreen356 13th Feb, 2025

Considering your sister's 90.4 percentile score in the SC+Female category, it's likely she's cleared the JEE Main cutoff. Given her accident and subsequent recovery, it's impressive that she's been scoring above 50% in JEE Advanced mocks.

Since she's already performed well in JEE Main, it's advisable to focus on JEE Advanced preparation. With her existing preparation and mock test scores, she has a good foundation to build upon.

To better understand the transition, note that JEE Advanced has a more comprehensive syllabus, including topics like Thermal Physics and Electrochemistry, which aren't part of JEE Main. The question format and difficulty level also vary between the two exams.

To maximize her chances, your sister should:

- Review and refine her concepts: Focus on strengthening her grasp of key topics, especially those unique to JEE Advanced.

- Practice with mock tests and previous year papers: Regular practice will help her adapt to the exam format, timing, and question types.

- Manage her time effectively: Balance preparation with rest and recovery to avoid burnout.

Remind your sister that her hard work and determination have brought her this far. Encourage her to stay positive, focused, and committed to her goals.

how many candidates apply for SASTRA counselling ...having 176.5 cutoff in 12th standard can get sastra college in stream 2 ..

sadafreen356 13th Feb, 2025

The number of candidates applying for SASTRA counseling varies each year, but I can provide some insights on the admission process and cutoffs.

SASTRA University admissions are based on a combination of Class XII scores and JEE Main scores (if applicable).¹ The university offers two streams:

- Stream 1: 50% of seats are allocated based on a combination of Class XII scores (50% weightage) and JEE Main scores (50% weightage).

- Stream 2: Remaining 50% of seats are allocated based solely on Class XII scores.

While there is no the exact number of applicants, SASTRA University's cutoffs for Stream 2 admissions are typically based on Class XII scores. With a cutoff of 176.5 in the 12th standard, your chances of getting into SASTRA College in Stream 2 depend on various factors, including:

- Competition: The number of applicants with similar or higher scores.

- Seat availability: The number of seats available in the desired program.
