Hello,
Interested aspirants for the course are required to fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria.
The age criteria for taking admission in Bsc agriculture is 18-23 years.
Completion of Intermediate (12 years of school education) in Science stream.
Physics, Chemistry, Biology and/or Mathematics as the subjects of study.
Apart from this, candidates possessing Intermediate in Agriculture stream (limited states) are also eligible to apply.Depending on the university, the eligibility varies in terms of a combination of subjects. Eligibility criteriaalso vary for reserved categories as per the reservation guidelines of GOI.
B.Sc Agriculture course is an undergraduate programme in the stream of agriculture. Unlike regular B.Sc. courses, this programme is of four-year duration. This is because the course is considered as a professional degree programme per the Government of India. With the increasing focus on agricultural practices in the country, the demand for trained professionals in this area has also been increasing. In fact, agriculture employs nearly half of the Indian population. Thus, the craze for courses in agriculture has also been on a rise among students.
While the B.Sc Agriculture course is offered on a full-time basis in most institutions, it is also available as a distance learning option in a bunch of institutions. The course fee for this programme usually varies from INR 1 lakh to INR 5 lakhs, depending on the course and institution offering it. The course focuses on agricultural science and technology. It trains students in effective agricultural practices, farming techniques, animal and poultry management, biotechnology, and horticulture. The course offers theoretical and practical knowledge of what improves agricultural productivity.
Hope it helps
