Am I eligible for NET Environmental Science, being a student of Integrated MA with 3 yr specialisation in English Studies at IIT Madras? English was given on the basis of CGPA and I don't like it. My reserach interest lies in Climate Change Studies.
Hello,
You have completed an Integrated MA with a 3-year specialization in English Studies at IIT Madras. While this provides a strong foundation in English, it may not directly align with the subject requirements for Environmental Science in the UGC NET.
If your research interest lies in climate change studies, enroll in a postgraduate program in Environmental Science, Climate Studies, or a related field to meet the eligibility criteria. You can also consider other examinations or certifications that align with your current qualifications and research interests.
Hope this helps. All the best!
Hello,
You are not directly eligible for the UGC NET in Environmental Science since you are enrolled in IIT Madras' Integrated MA program with a focus in English Studies. This is because NET requires a master's degree in Environmental Science or a closely related field. The Humanities (English) degree you currently hold is not deemed equivalent by UGC. A second master's degree (MSc or MA) in environmental studies, environmental science, or sustainability, however, might be of interest to you if you have a strong interest in environmental science research. This will help you match your academic background with your research interests for future opportunities and qualify you for NET in Environmental Science.
All the best.
