Are online classes recorded or scheduled with live interaction of students?

Some modules which require additional support from the teachers and staff are taken through live lectures followed by question and answers session. But for other modules that cover simpler topics of the course, some universities provide recorded lessons with live assignments to keep a track of student development throughout the course.
