In Indian ships, deck cadet can earn 20,000-30,000 per month and around 50,000-60,000 in foreign ships. A deck officer will receive upto Rs 1,50,000 per month. The figures of your salary varies in abroad. In abroad, you will get the salary of around 85000$ per annum

Hello Shinas,

The average salary offered at Indian Maritime University is 7 lac per annum with highest package offered is of 12 lac p.a. and lowest of 5.5 lac p.a. for B.Tech in Marine Engineering. Placements of other departments are also good. All the best !

Hope you're doing well

After passing out from IMU as a marine engineer,u will be joining as a trainee marine engineer. The salary would then be almost around 600 USD p.m. After clearing ur certificate of competency exam,u will then join as a fourth engineer, salary will then be around 3000 USD p.m.
