Dear Gungtey.
No you cannot. Indeed the eligibility criteria for JEE MAINS 2022 says that 'there is no age limit' but you are required that you should have passed the 12th class or qualifying the exam in 2020 or 2021. Candidates appearing in 12th class or equivalent qualifying exams in 2022 can also apply. But if you are 16 years old in 2022 I believe you won't be appearing for 12th class or equivalent examination. You should take admission in a good college and prepare till 12th standard. Improve your skill and practice more.
I would like to tell you something Gungtey. I am not aware of your reason behind this thought. You might have been in some bad situation, if it is so then i really pray that you find strength with each new day. I want you to understand the emotion behind this exam and why it is this important for so many people and families adding up every year. This exam is seen as the Turning-point of many students lives. So many students sacrifice the majority part of their life just to prepare for this exam all over India. This is no small exam like a school maths Olympiad, it has taught life-lessons to so many big brains today who inspire millions and are followed by the world. If you are confident that you can appear this exam and qualify then imagine if you practice and improve for two more years, how incredible you could perform. Trust me I have been there, and these two years have really make me understand the reality of life. It is a life changing opportunity for everyone who appears it. This cannot be avoided through by-passing this two year voyage. No exam in the world decides your future neither this one but this exam surely makes you a better person.
