Food Technology is a science which deals with the techniques and principles involved in processing and preserving the food substances. The study of food technology is to develop new methods and systems for keeping food products safe and resistant from natural harms such as bacteria and other micro-organisms. Food Technology involves a blend of physical, chemical or microbiological processes and techniques for transforming raw ingredients into food and also other forms in food processing industry. Hi student,

The basic eligibility criteria for getting admission in masters in food and nutrition or dieticsis the bachelor's degree in food science or any equivalent discipline.

So, concluding that eligibility criteria is a graduation that can be in nutrition/dietetics/food science/food technology.

However, few colleges or institution may have their specific eligibility criteria.

Thanks

Hi.

The eligibility criteria for M.Sc in Food Technology is as follows:

  • The candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology or other related stream like Agriculture, Food Technology, Diary Technology, etc from a recognized board or university.
  • The candidates must obtain minimum 50% marks in graduation to be eligible for this course.
  • The candidates must qualify the required entrance exam as decided by the university.

Since you already have a B.Sc in nutrition and dietetics, depending on the university you wish to join and its entrance exam. You should be able to pursue Food Technology.

Best of Luck
