There is no such condition that if your college (from where you'll graduate) should be aicte approved then only you can get into an IITs/NITs or IIITs  after clearing gate.

The only thing you need to ensure that you've to maintain a good  CGPA in your BTech (required to be eligible for appearing in gate exam) then after scoring a good rank in gate exam you can surely get admission into prestigious institute's like IITs/NITs etc. for higher studies.

Yes you can give gate exam to go for MTech courses in IITs, NITs or IIITs. The educational qualification criteria is to complete btech in relevant field from a deemed or recognised university or if the candidate is in prefinal year.
But I would like to tell you, just clearing gate exam will not be enough to get you a seat in IITs, NITs or IIITs. You will have to score around 60+ marks for IITs and 40+ for NITs and IIITs taking into consideration all the categories.
