Hello Aspirant,

Yes, the student is admissible for WBJEE. The eligibility rule is that a candidate must have studied Physics and Maths along with Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science as compulsory subjects in the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination, and had an aggregate of 60% (45% for reserved category) in Physics, Mathematics and the third subject combined. The student took PCMB, with more than 80% scored in each subject, so the eligibility criteria are met in full.

For Jadavpur University (Engineering through WBJEE), the same rule applies: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics here, but again with 80%+ marks in all it is eligible.

For WBJEE eligibility, especially for Jadavpur University engineering courses, having Mathematics as a compulsory subject in Class 12 is mandatory along with Physics and Chemistry. Even if you scored above 80 percent in all subjects, if your school has counted Biology as compulsory and Mathematics as an optional elective, then it may create issues for WBJEE eligibility. To be eligible, you must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. So, in this case, you may not be considered eligible for engineering at Jadavpur University through WBJEE.

Hello Aspirant,

Yes, as a PCMB student (taking Biology as an additional subject), you are generally allowed to sit for the WBJEE as it accepts Physics, Mathematics and any one from Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or Computer Science as the third subject, provided you also met the minimum aggregate ( 45% for general category) and English (30%)  But for admission to Jadavpur University Engineering & Technology faculty, Chemistry must be one of the three compulsory subjects, and you must have a 60% aggregate in PCM
