As far as I know, if your answer lies within the range given by the official GATE answer key, there is no problem.

But, bear this in mind to not to exceed the specified decimal range, sometimes accurate answers have no range provided and slightest of mistake in it, can cost you severely.

Eg. This year GATE has demanded accurate answers, so in a case you got an answer of 0.287 and if the official answer provided is 0.29–0.29, perhaps it may turn against you! So take care of this fact, and stay accurate to what has been asked in the questions.
