your question is quite good one , yeah i accept that they take only by VITEE marks , the closing rank is low because the demand for the VIT is quite high and the students are very passionate to join and VITEE admission decides you only by VITEE marks that is by the perfermence in VITEE if  you can perform good in objectives generally you will have high marks in +2
