KIIT, Orissa has huge intake every year. Mechanical engineering is one such branch which is oldest and has huge crowd interested in. According to me, the possibility of you getting into the KIIT will be about 40%, as many students prior to you gets chance to enrol for mechanical engineering. Looking at Indian scenario, students usually prefer either mechanical, civil, IT and software engineering as the best options to educate themselves. But, you must look out for yourself, there are few promising branches for future such as automobile, civil, Instrumentation & control, mechatronics, CS, IT, petrol-chemical, chemical engineering, Plastic & polymer, robotics and automation, biotechnology, biomedical and genetic engineering, Textile technology, animation and film making.

Usually, the universities will be able to take about 7,000–10,000 students
