Unfortunately, your son's rank is a little on the lower side to be getting into Computer Science and Engineering course at VIT, Vellore. Because he would need less or equal to 5000 rank for that.

However, for Chennai campus, his score is still not enough for the 1st category. (As the category number keeps rising, the fees rise). He needed less than 12000 rank for that.

But, he should be getting CSE in Chennai after a few categories since it normally goes to rank 33,000.

Also, do check for Bhopal and Amravati campuses!
