Hii,

The placenta is an endocrine gland that is only present during pregnancy . it produces hormones including :

  • human chorionic gonadotropin ( hCG )this is the  first hormone released by the placenta,
  • progesterone ,
  • estrogen, and
  • human placental lactogen ( hPL ).
