Hello Aspirant

A laptop is a basic requirement for ece.

You can smoothly do your first year if you don't have one, but from the 3rd semester it will be of huge importance.

There are certain software like multism, pspice, orcad etc on which you can simulate any circuit that pops out of your mind and check whether it is working or not. If you don't have a laptop then you will have to buy each of the components and patch it on the breadboard each time you want to do something new. So in other words laptop will save you time and money.

Other than that you will be taught several programming languages like C,java etc in different semesters, without practice, these languages are impossible to learn so your laptop will come handy in such cases.

Hope it helps you

Thank you

Hello,

using a laptop for ECE will help you practicing the different simulation tools you are learning and that would be very beneficial for you to gain practical knowledge.
