It is quite difficult to predict the exact score as percentile depends on many factors such as number of students appeared, shift, toughness, etc. With this the score vs percentile changes every year. but seeing the previous year trends, in order to secure 96 percentile, you need to score at least 140 marks in JEE Main. Hope you are doing great. So, in response to your question. According to a recent trend over the past few years, candidates must score at least 101 to 110 points to fall within the 96-97 percentile. This is only a rough estimate, though, as the range of possible marks varies for different sessions. Because normalization varies, it will entirely depend on how challenging the question paper turns out to be, how many students show up for the exam, and how well they perform in that exam. If you want to be on the safe side, I'd prefer you to get at least 155–185 points.
