Regardless of whether they passed the qualifying test, candidates may show up and write the exam twice during the course of two consecutive years.
The JEE Advanced test is open to students who are Indian citizens, PIOs (Person of Indian Origin), OCIs (Overseas Citizens of India), and foreign nationals. Foreign nationals must fulfil certain requirements.
Candidates must have been born on or before October 1, 1997, to be eligible. The waiting period for applicants from the reserved category is shortened by five years. Candidate birthdates must be on or after October 1, 1992.
