Hi,

NIFT follows relative grading system. You can never predict with what marks you get in NIFT and with what marks you don't. Same marks can have different CMR in different years. Passing marks may vary every year. As you might know, NIFT entrance consist of Cat-50% Gat-30% and Situation Test-20%
So if you have scored well in written exam (CAT+GAT) you can easily get among top 2000 and get selected for situation test. This year, the cut off for general in written exam(CAT+GAT) was 41.5 marks. So your marks should be greater than this to qualify for the next round, I.e, situation test. But this may vary year-to-year. Your performance in situation test will actually decide your RANK! So do well in that to get a good CMR. But 75+ is required to get into your desired campus and desired course. Now when it comes to any campus and any course the cut off varies for general, reservation etc. For general you need to get around 62+ to get into NIFT for any course in any campus.

Hope this helps.
