Hello!

You can get a admission in a good engineering college in three ways:

1st (Board marks) - By scoring good marks in board examination. If you are a state board with 80% marks atleast you can get a good college in your own state. If you are a CBSE student with 80% marks and a good cutoff in PCM you will get a good engineering college.

2nd (JEE score) - by scoring good marks in JEE. A lot of colleges consider your JEE marks to provide you with admission. I think no colleges are better than IITs and NITs. Good JEE marks might land in those colleges as well as many private and deemed colleges consider JEE marks. (This year even VIT considered JEE scores).

3rd (management quota) - You should take management quota in reputed colleges, which will be expensive and the fee is completely based on the reputation of the college. When you go via marks your fee will be around 1lakh but when you take management seat it might range from 2-6Lakhs per year.

ALL THE BEST. Hope the answer was helpful.

Thank you

But the state and cbse boards have different evaluation system...so don't they require any normalisation method to give a fair admission process...
If so how is the normalisation done

They both have different evaluation system from cutoff basis both are much similar if 2 people have same cutoff and they both have domicile as same but one from CBSE and one from Stateboard , if that college is a state government's college then a stateboard student gets the priority ( that even your category should match)

Hello,

In India many national level/state-level/institute-level engineering entrance examinations are held for admissions to B.Tech programmes. Some of the main Entrance exams in India for Engineering are:

  • JEE MAINs

  • JEE Advanced

  • VITEEE

  • MHT CET

  • SRMJEEE

  • KIITEE

To get the complete list of the entrance exams, please refer the below link:

Apart from qualifying in the above Entrance Exams, the basic eligibility requirement for admissions to any B.Tech programme are listed below. But these may vary from college to college:

  • Candidates must have passed Class 10+2 exam from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects.

  • They must also have secured a minimum aggregate marks of 60% in the above subjects combined.

Good Luck
