I am able to solve more than 80% jee mains 2020 and previous year problems but whenever I take a mock test, my score is only 40-50%. So, what is the reason behind it? And please give me some tips to increase my score in mock tests.

Hello @techysparta, I think one of the reasons that you fail to score only 40-50% in your mock test maybe overconfidence. Sometimes it happens that you score more than 80% and then develop pride and overconfidence , which is bad. So I would recommend that you ignore the praises you receive after achieving something and rather concentrate more on your main exams.

The following are some of the things I personally do to score more marks:

1. Take good rest with minimum 7 hours sleep.

2. Eat well and do not skip meals.

3. Seek advice from your seniors and talk to your friends to keep your head calm and cool.

4. Do not stress out.

5. Solve maximum practice papers by setting a timer. This will help you get a proper idea of how much time you'll require to attempt one question.

6. Cross check all your answers and mark the wrong ones with a red pen. This will remind you of the mistakes you did. Physcologically you'll be well prepared for the same question next time.

I hope this has helped you. All the best for your future!

Maybe you are good with concepts but some or the other where might be lacking a decent MCQs exposure. So solve as many as practice MCQs you can solve so that you are adapted to the pattern of questions being asked. Use RD SHARMA for Maths, HC VERMA or DC PANDEY for Physics and ARIHANT or GRB for Chemistry.

Also keep giving mock tests solving the sample papers as they will really boost your confidence and let you understand the types of questions being asked i the exam.
