Hello Aspirant,

You can get research training in subtopics of microbiology by enrolling in PhD. in Microbiology. It is a three to five year long doctoral degree course. To be eligible for applying for PhD in microbiology, you must posses a minimum of 55% marks aggregate for your masters degree in microbiology. Many colleges also ask for an experience of five years or more in the field of microbiology. GATE, UGC NET, CSIR -UGC-NET etc are entrance examinations you can qualify in order to attend the PhD course. After your BSc microbiology pursue MSc in microbiology after which you can make use of the above given data and secure a doctoral degree (PhD) in microbiology to enter the research field. Hope this helps and Good luck
