Hello,

As a Gujarat domicile candidate with a Central OBC-NCL certificate issued in Maharashtra, your eligibility for state and all-India quotas in NEET admissions depends on specific rules. Here’s how it works:

1. Eligibility for State Quota (85% seats):

Gujarat State Quota:

Since you are a Gujarat domicile, you are eligible for the 85% state quota seats in Gujarat’s medical colleges.

However, your OBC-NCL status will only be considered if Gujarat recognizes your caste under its state OBC list.

Check whether your caste is listed in Gujarat’s OBC list. If not, you will be treated as a General candidate for state quota seats.

Maharashtra State Quota:

You are not eligible for Maharashtra’s state quota seats because domicile is required in Maharashtra to claim seats under its state quota.

2. Eligibility for All India Quota (AIQ - 15% seats):

For the All India Quota, your Central OBC-NCL certificate will be valid, as AIQ admissions follow the Central OBC list.

You can apply for the 15% AIQ seats in any state (including Gujarat and Maharashtra), provided your caste is listed in the Central OBC list.

Hello,

As a Gujarat state domicile candidate, you are eligible for the state quota seats in Gujarat under the NEET exam for medical college admissions. Your domicile status determines your state quota eligibility, not the origin of your OBC-NCL certificate. Since you possess a central OBC-NCL certificate from Maharashtra, you can also apply for All India Quota (AIQ) seats under the OBC category across the country, provided your caste is listed in the central OBC list. However, you won't be eligible for the Maharashtra state quota as you are not a domicile there.

Hello Yogesh,

If you are a Gujarat state domicile candidate and hold a Central OBC-NCL certificate from Maharashtra , here's how your eligibility for NEET exam and medical admissions works:

Eligibility for NEET Admission Quotas :

  1. State Quota (85% seats):

    • You are eligible for Gujarat State Quota because you hold domicile of Gujarat .

    • Your OBC-NCL status in Maharashtra won't apply to Gujarat State Quota, as state quotas require a caste certificate recognized within the respective state.

    • If Gujarat recognizes your caste under its OBC list and you have the certificate issued in Gujarat, you can claim OBC benefits under Gujarat State Quota. Otherwise, you will fall under the General category for state quota in Gujarat.

  2. All India Quota (AIQ) (15% seats):

    • You are eligible for AIQ seats in all medical colleges across India (except J&K unless you opt in).

    • Your Central OBC-NCL certificate from Maharashtra is valid for AIQ, provided your caste is listed in the Central OBC list . This can help you claim OBC reservation benefits under AIQ.

      Action Steps :

  3. Confirm if your caste is recognized under Gujarat's OBC list for the state quota.

  4. Ensure your Central OBC-NCL certificate is valid and up-to-date for AIQ admissions.

  5. Use your Gujarat domicile for the 85% state quota and your Central OBC-NCL certificate for AIQ reservations.

This way, you can maximize your opportunities in both quotas!

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Hi Yogesh,

As a candidate from Gujarat holding a Central OBC-NCL certificate issued in Maharashtra , your eligibility for NEET admission quotas and reservations will be determined by specific state and central regulations.

State Quota:

  • Gujarat State Quota:

You qualify for the 85% state quota seats in Gujarat since you are a domicile candidate of the state.

To avail OBC reservation in Gujarat, your OBC-NCL certificate must be recognized in Gujarat according to the state’s official OBC list.

If your caste is included in Gujarat's OBC list and your Central OBC-NCL certificate is valid, you can apply for OBC reservation in the state quota.

Maharashtra State Quota:

You are not eligible for the Maharashtra state quota (85% ) because the state quota seats require candidates to be domiciled in Maharashtra, and you are from Gujarat.

All India Quota (AIQ):

  • 15% All India Quota:

You are eligible for the 15% AIQ seats under NEET.

For AIQ, your Central OBC-NCL certificate is recognized across the country, as long as your caste is listed in the Central OBC list .

If your caste is only valid in the Central OBC list and not in Gujarat, you will be categorized under the general category for the Gujarat state quota but can still claim OBC benefits under AIQ.

Hope this helps!
