Your rank needs to be in top 2.24 lakh from all students who appear for JEE main 2018 to qualify for JEE advanced.
You need valid positive score in JEE mains and amongst top 2.24LAKH studnets including all categories and must have passed 12th with minimum 75% aggregate marks in all five subjects, as well as should be born on or after Oct 1st, 1993 to be eligible for JEE advanced for IITs.
The ranks shall vary every year as per the marks due to various factors which alter the rankings namely:
- No.of students appearing
- No. of test takers
- Previous year cutoffs
- Difficulty level of paper
