i am studying degree bsc computers 2nd year. i want to do mtech in compuer science after 3rd year . can i write gate exam . after 3rd year or i have to complete msc?

No,For Mtech you are not eligible to give GATE examination in 2nd year diploma and after completing your diploma degree

To take the gate exam the candidate should atleast be in the final year of of their UG degree. Since you're in the 2nd year, you're not eligible for gate this year. You can write the GATE exam only after completing your B.Sc degree, not during the 3rd year.

Here’s the clear rule:

• If you are doing B.Sc. (3-year course) , you can apply for GATE only after you complete it .

• You don’t need to do M.Sc. to be eligible for GATE.

• But if you want to join M.Tech in Computer Science , most colleges (like IITs and NITs) require a 4-year degree (like B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.)) .

• So after B.Sc. (3 years), you can do M.Sc. in Computer Science , and then write GATE to get admission into M.Tech.
