Here, I have listed a few tips on how you can prepare for medical entrance test right from your class 11:

1. Collect syllabus for examination

This is the most important thing that every medical aspirant should know before starting preparing for the pre medical test. Because, all the important medical entrance exams cover NCERT syllabus. So, you can compare the syllabus with your current course curriculum. You will find many topics to be common with your study curriculum. It would be quite beneficial for you as you don’t need to learn or prepare those common topics separately. This will help you devote ample time to the parts of the syllabus that are not covered in your course.

2. Follow NCERT books only

It was found that, in all medical entrance tests, more than 90% of the questions come from NCERT books. Thus, if you read your course books meticulously, you will cover more than half the distance to your destination. Moreover, if you read NCERT books properly and thoroughly, you will get in depth knowledge about each and every topic starting from its basics. Most of the pictorial questions you see in the exam are sourced from the NCERT textbook itself.

Some important benefits of reading NCERT books are:

Gives in-depth understanding about complex topics

clear all the concepts and formulae you learned in a chapter

Explains each topic in simple language, making it easy to understand the concepts

Strictly adhere to the CBSE curriculum which is followed in all entrance examinations

3. Point out and work on weak areas

This is another important thing to be conquered. It might happen that you are very strong in one subject and weak in the other. The fact shouldn’t discourage or depress your preparation efforts for entrance to the medical field. If you are in class 11 (under CBSE, UP board or any other state board), you have enough time to turn your weakness to your strength. Try and work hard more on the weaker areas. If required, approach subject experts, teachers, friends or seniors. You can also take extra classes for the subject. This will prove to be quite essective in overcoming the fear of your weakness.

4. Prepare a weekly schedule

Nothing works in absence of a proper schedule. Until and unless you make a complete and thorough schedule for the way you want to study, you will not be able to complete the syllabus. A well planned study schedule will successfully help you cover your school course and medical test preparation parallely. Set affordable weekly targets that can help you cover the syllabus giving enough time for revision.

5. Saggregate esasy and tough chapters

You will always find some chapters that are on your tips and some others which need to be revised thoroughly. For this, once you have covered a part of syllabus relevant to class 11 course, figure out the chapters that you need to prepare from the beginning and chapters that will only need a quick revision before the exam. This will help you cover all parts of the syllabus uniformly. Allot time for each segment and implement and maintain the same.

6. Practice previous years’papers

As far as the paper pattern for the medical tests is concerned, there is no significant change every year. Solving past year exam papers can help you to get a clear idea about the expected pattern and also the type of questions to be asked. Moreover, it will help you to identify changing trends in the past years and prepare accordingly. More you will practice, the more you will gain confidence to crack the pre medical test.

7. Solve mock test papers and practice papers

One of the greatest challenges of the NEET examination is the time limitation as students are required to finish 180 questions in 3 hours (180 minutes). Thus, students must be capable of finishing one question in 1 minute atleast. For this, students must learn the time management strategy. Solving more and more practice papers and mock test papers can help you achieve the speed and accuracy. But it’s important to solve these papers within a stipulated time limit as is done in the examinations.

Solving practice papers and mock test papers by will help you analyze your preparation level for the exam familiarise with the exam pattern and important topics attain accuracy and learn time management strategy get a beforehand experience of real exam.

8.lastly  stay calm and stress free
