Hi reader ,

scoring 601 in NEET 2021 is a great feat.

If you feel that getting an MBBS seat through ALL INDIA COUNSELLING seems difficult the you can try in your state.

if you belong to states like Rajasthan , bihar  , Delhi etc where the cutoff remains same then you should try for BDS colleges through AIQ. you will easily get a college to pursue BDS at your score.

if you feel that it is difficult to get mbbs seat and your interest like in traditional cures then you can go for BAMS through the ayush counselling which began today i.e. 29th January 2022.

look what decision you take is based on the circumstances you are in.

if this was your 1st or 2nd attempt of neet and you are willing to take 1 more attempt if things go south then you can go till the last round for MBBS counselling while simultaneously preparing for NEET UG 2022.

i hope my views gave a clarity to you.

for knowing your chances of getting a college you can refer

Previous Year (2020) NEET UG Cut offs for admission to Government MBBS College in India -

  • General Category - 611/720
  • SC Category - 513/720
  • ST Category - 491/720

Going by this previous year trend, and assuming you are a General Category Candidate, with a score of 601 it is difficult to get an MBBS Seat in Government College via 15% All India Quota. However, with this score you can easily get a Deemed University. To predict what all Medical Colleges you can get with your NEET UG Rank, you may use NEET UG College Predictor Tool - https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-college-predictor

If you don't want admission in Deemed Universities (Private Colleges), I would suggest you to apply in State Counselling as well, for MBBS Colleges (if in your state, the counselling hasn't started yet).

If you feel (from previous year trends in your state), you can not get any MBBS Government College via 85% State Quota, then you should definitely apply for AYUSH (BAMS) Counselling and Veterinary Counselling as well.

When it comes to government job vacancies and salary, then the order of courses (related to Medicine) is like - MBBS > BVSc (Veterinary Doctor) > BAMS > BDS > BHMS. Thus, I would suggest you to apply for BVSc. Counselling as well (which is expected to start from mid February, though exact dates for the same has not been officially declared).

To see latest updates regarding BVSc. Counselling, you may visit it's official website - http://vci.dadf.gov.in/counseling

With your marks, you can easily get top BVSc. (Govt) Colleges in India.
