hi abhi,
For a percentile of 97.6033 in jee mains your general category rank should be around 24k. As you are a general category student you will not get a top branch in top tier institute like Top NITs, DTU, NSIT etc.
For, NIT Trichy home state quota: Chemical, civil, metallurgical, production, instrumentation. If you have don't have home state quota then you will not get any branch in NIT Trichy.
You can get DTU,NSIT branches like biotech, mechanical , manufacturing and processing, electrical, instrumentation, civil etc if you have home state quota. and no branch if you don't have delhi quota.
In NIT Rourkela if home state quota then biotech, civil, ceramic, metallurgical and other lower branch. If other state quota then bio medical, food process engineering, Industrial Design.
In most of the good NITs you can get electrical, mechanical etc if you have home state quota and branches like biotech, metallurgical if you have other state quota.
You cannot get IIITs unless you are okay to compromise on getting top branch. You cannot get top IIITs like IIIT Allahabad and Hyderabad.
If you want to get CSE,IT,ECE then you have to consider lower NITs or other institutes like Thapar in institute of technology etc.
I hope this answer will help. All the best for the future!!
