i got a seat in kcet counsilling but wished to quit it and take a drop but i could choose quit ,the choice entry ended. so i would like to know wheather the seat will get cancelled automattically and wheather it will affect next year seat counselling
Hello,
If you got a seat in KCET counselling but have decided not to join and instead take a drop, then after the choice entry ends, the seat is usually automatically considered as not joined if you don’t report or pay the fees. It will be returned to the pool for the next rounds or cancelled. For the next year’s counselling, there is generally no penalty or restriction just because you didn’t join the allotted seat this year—KCET allows you to appear fresh each year if you meet eligibility. However, you must make sure that you don’t officially accept the seat and then fail to attend classes, because in some cases colleges may ask for a small seat cancellation fee if admission was confirmed. If your aim is to prepare better and get a better rank next year, you’re safe to do so.
All the best for your preparation! Thank you.
Hey Deeksha:)
Thanks for reaching out!
If you secured a seat through KCET councelling ,but missed the option to officially quit and didn't join the allotted college, you're seat will most likely be cancelled automatically for not reporting .The seat will be allotted to someone in the next rounds. It would just be considered as withdrawal so, there's no need to worry about it affecting your eligibility for next year, you'll still be able to apply and participate as usual. If you accepted the seat and paid the fees, some states may have specific rules or penalties but Karnataka generally doesn't restrict you from participating Again. However, just make sure you have no pending fees or formalities from this admission to avoid any problems later on.
Hope you'll find this helpful!
