i got pcmb istead of pcm in my kcet amit card even though i dont have bio for puc. so is it a mistake at my end or is it normal
It seems like there's been a mix-up with your KCET admit card. You've been assigned PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology) instead of PCM, despite not having Biology in your PUC (Pre-University Course). This discrepancy might be an error on the part of the exam authorities.
Possible Reasons
- Administrative mistake: The exam authorities might have incorrectly assigned you PCMB instead of PCM.
- System glitch: There could have been a technical issue during the admit card generation process.
Next Steps
- Contact KCET authorities: Reach out to the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) authorities to report the issue and request a correction.
- Verify your exam details: Double-check your exam details, including your subject combination, to ensure everything is accurate.
Implications
- Engineering admissions: If you're appearing for PCMB, your scores will be considered for engineering admissions, but you might face issues if you're not eligible for Biology-related courses.
- Medical and allied courses: If you're interested in medical or allied courses, having PCMB might be beneficial, but since you don't have Biology in your PUC, this might not be applicable to you.
To resolve this issue, it's essential to contact the KCET authorities and clarify the discrepancy. They'll guide you through the necessary steps to correct your admit card and ensure a smooth exam experience.
Hi aspirant,
It is normal , it was reported last year by many students because KEA issues admit cards with PCMB for all candidates regardless of whether they studied biology in PUC or not. Since you didn’t study biology in PUC, you don’t have to give a biology paper . Also, if you are applying for an engineering course, attending a biology paper won't give you benefit.
if you are preparing for KCET. here is the important topics you should cover.
