Hi Vijay!

A cut-off of 170 marks in Tamil Nadu Agriculture University exams can indeed be considered borderline for government agriculture colleges, especially under the General (OC) category including flagship institutions like TNAU Coimbatore or Madurai. However, if you belong to BC, MBC, SC, or ST categories, 170 can still open doors, particularly in the second or third rounds of counselling. Admission is often based on PCM/PCB scores with agricultural-based weighting.

Don’t lose hope even if top colleges don’t work out you can still gain admission to regional government-affiliated or self-financed colleges, which have good departments and are recognized.

All the best ahead!
