Hello Raj,

No, filling the wrong income in the NEET application won't affect your exam eligibility or category-based reservation (since you are from the SC category). However, it might create issues during counseling if income-based benefits (like fee concessions or scholarships) are involved.

If possible, correct it during the correction window (if still open). Otherwise, carry the correct income certificate during counseling to ensure there are no issues.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Filling the wrong income in your NEET application generally does not affect your eligibility for the exam itself. However, it could have implications later, especially if your category-based benefits (such as reservation, scholarships, or fee concessions) depend on income criteria.

Since you belong to the SC category and have the domicile certificate , your reservation benefits are mostly based on category rather than income. However, if income-based scholarships or state quota benefits require accurate details, it’s best to correct the mistake if possible.

What You Can Do Now?

  1. Correction Window : If the NEET correction window is still open, update the income details.
  2. During Counselling : If you cannot correct it now, ensure you carry the correct income certificate during the counseling process . The authorities usually verify documents at that stage.
  3. Contact NTA/NEET Helpline : If you're worried, you can reach out to NTA (National Testing Agency) for clarification.

If the mistake does not affect your category benefits, it is unlikely to cause a problem . Just make sure all your documents (income certificate, caste certificate, domicile) are accurate and match the details required during admission.
