Hello Aspirant,

It can be disheartening to receive a supple in the first or second year of medical school, but it does not determine your future chances. The most important factor is how you recover — regain your subjects, develop your clinical skills, and pass your final exams and internship. Many great doctors have received a supple during this phase of education but went on to be successful in their PG entrance exams, gain great residencies, and develop great careers. Make progress in yourself, stay motivated, and learn from the experience — that development will represent for a countdown more than any supple does.

Hello

Getting a supplementary (supply) in the 1st or 2nd year of MBBS is not uncommon and doesn’t necessarily ruin your future opportunities, as long as you clear them and continue progressing. Most postgraduate entrance exams like NEET PG focus on your final marks and rank, not past failures. However, frequent or repeated backlogs may raise concerns during competitive interviews or when applying abroad, especially where detailed transcripts are reviewed. Focus now on improving your academic performance, clearing all remaining papers, and building clinical experience—these will matter far more in the long run.
