Hi Vishnu, As per your query about the reservation and its validity for NEET UG ENTRANCE, I would like to inform you that for reservations you have to understand one simple thing out of total seat under NEET 85% is filled by state government quota and 15 % by All India Quota... So if you are suppose applying for kerala state quota seats then YES YOUR RESERVATION WILL BE VALIDif you have the required certificate.... Now if you want maharashtra state quota (provided you satisfy the criteria) your reservation will jot be valid if your caste is not listed under obc in Maharashtra government obc list........

If you are applying through all india quota, your caste if registered under all india obc list then only you will get the benefit of reservation otherwise you will be eligible for general quota seat only....

Hopefully it helps

Hi Vishnu

You would know that for MBBS/BDS admissions, first All India Quota () counselling is conducted by MCC, on behalf of DGHS, during which 15% of the seats in government colleges are allotted, and after that respective state counselling authorities conduct their counselling for admission to remaining seats in government and private colleges.

  • Talking about AlQ counselling first: Your OBC reservation will only be applicable in   if you belong to non-creamy layer and your OBC caste comes under Central List of OBC which is a list of OBC castes recognized as OBC by Central Government. In case it does, then you can apply as OBC while filling NEET application form if you wish to be considered under OBC category during  admissions.  remember that you will be required to produce OBC certificate in the format given at the end of NEET 2018 prospectus at the time of  admission (if you apply under OBC category).

  • Now, coming to Kerala MBBS State Counselling: If you are a Keralite, i.e. native of Kerala, and have studied in Kerala, then you are eligible to apply for state MBBS/BDS admission under OBC reservation (given that you have OBC reservation in the state of Kerala)

Hope it helps.

All the best!
