The Sainik School Society holds an All India Sainik School Entrance Exam for candidates interested in pursuing studies at the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune), Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, and other officer training institutes. The AISSEE is completed utilising an OMR sheet and is conducted offline. Following the release of the written merit list, the Sainik School Society sends out official call letters to qualifying candidates inviting them to the interview and medicals. A medical examination conducted by a board of military and civilian doctors. The health and medical fitness requirements would be the same as those for the NDA Exam. However, due to the boys' young age, no height, weight, or chest measurement criteria will be applied.

In view of the tender age of the boys, however, no standards of height, weight and chest measurement will be applicable at the time of admission.
