If you're not at all interested in pursuing a career in engineering, then you have to make efforts to understand your parents regarding your specific areas of interest, see in this day and age engineering and medical aren't only sole options , I understand that these two have been considered great career options since long time but if you're not even interested in having a career then there is no point in going through strenuous hours of coaching, further followed by your academics, exam preparation etc, whether you choose law or engineering, you are going to spend some four to five years of your life in college, hence it's of utmost importance that you enroll in a course that you feel interested enough, because if that's not there the entire academics journey ahead will become tough to deal with, may be you're a brilliant student, you will do well in engineering also, but what about your fulfillment of pursuing a career of your choice, that fits in with your skills, aptitude, and areas of interest, you have to discuss all this with your parents, you have to make them understand that law as a career too has great options, for example we have various options in integrated law, there is BA-LLB which is arts with law, BSc-LLB which is combination of science and law, BCA-LLB which is combination of computer application that of law, BBA-LLB is amalgamation of law with management, BCom is commerce with law, etc, so as per your inclination towards specific subject you can go ahead with any of these choices, there are equally good job profiles available as well after becoming a law graduate, hence you have to try to make your parents see your point of view, you can also give examples of various people who have settled well in life after pursuing law, and it really holds great scope even in the time to come.
