Hello,
If you are in top 20 percentile, then I think that you can't clear the cutoff for jee mains 2019.
So it what's the use of top 20 percentile, so it will be good for you to prepare hard and give jee mains 2020.
Please ask relevant queries.
Please aim higher since the cutoff for 2019 jee mains was around 75 percentile.
So atleast target this much.And then aim higher.

If you are talking about jee mains percentile than
It doesn't matter that you are in top 20 percentile or not.
You can give jee mains in consecutive 3 year ( year if passing your 12 ; next year and in one more year ).
Eg : if you pass your 12 th in 2019 than you can give jee mains in 2019;2020;2021.
And jee advanced in two consecutive year ( 2019 and in 2020 only ).
So ofcourse you can give jee mains in next year.
Any other query ; you can ask.

The eligiblity criteria for Jee main is that you should either score 75% in boards for general category (65% in boards for STC, SC and OBC) or you should be in the top 20 percentile in boards of your respective board. So as you are in the top 20 percentile so you can definitely appear for Jee main 2020.
