Hello Aspirant

It is okay if you do not get very high scores in 12th grade. This is not the end of the world. There are a lot of options that one can pursue after it. VFX is a good option to pursue after 12th. One has to be interested in VFX as it is not an easy field. One needs to work hard towards understanding the concepts and one also needs to work towards sharpening the drawing skills.

In animation and VFX good for the future as the opportunities lie in UI Design, Graphic Design, Storyboarding, Animation Design, Game Design, 3D Modeling, Texturing and Lighting, Dynamics and VFX and of course animation (2D and 3D). Of course at the top of the pile lies Concept Designing - these people are required by Event Companies, Animation Studios, VFX Studios, and of course Game Studios.

However, choosing between these must be done after seeing your performance in each of these. So going for a generic course covering all or most of these would be the best way to get started in these careers. Typically you should have good sketching skills to be able to make a sound career in this (if you work hard you can improve your drawing skills tremendously)

BSc in Animation and Visual Effects is a three-year undergraduate program. It mostly includes the advanced study of the 2D Classical and digital and 3D Animation and Visual Effects.

Some of the best universities are –

Sai Nath University, Ranchi

Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar

Chandigarh University, Chandigarh

Minimum criteria are to pass your 12th grade with 50%marks. If you do not fit the eligibility criteria then you can always pursue private courses from institutes such as Arena Animation. These private institutes are as good as a degree.

In this field of work, more important than a degree or certificate is the skills that the animator has. The kind and quality of work of an animator are judged. If you have good skills and your work is applaudable, then you will definitely make a place for yourself in the job market.

Best of luck!

Hi Karneshwar

Less percentage is not a problem. Education is important and not only marks. Your interest is important here. Choose either VFX or B.Sc based on your interest. Because without your interest you can't do well. I think you have passed the exams with less percentage of marks. usually, 12th std pass marks will be around 35-45%. Eligibility criteria for arts and science college admission also around these marks. Based on the competition only you may struggle to get a seat. If you search well, you can get your college and get your seat.

All the best.
