Yes, generally begins carry deoxygenated blood from the body to heart ,where it can be sent to the lungs, except pulmonary veins. Pulmonary veins take oxygenated blood from lungs to the heart. Veins have one way valves instead of muscles to stop blood from running back the wrong way.

Hello student,

Yes, veins generally transport carbon dioxide-containing blood back to the heart. The primary exception is the pulmonary vein , which carries oxygen-rich blood from the lungs to the heart.

In the systemic circulation, veins carry deoxygenated blood rich in carbon dioxide, collected from body tissues, back to the heart to be pumped to the lungs for oxygenation. This is a key function in maintaining the body’s respiratory and circulatory balance.
