Dear aspirant,
As you have mentioned that you have doubt that if the cut offs are calculated for paper 1 or paper 2 seperately or overall so let me tell you that for jee advanced overall cut off is declared by them for maths physics and chemistry seperately and you need to clear the cut off for each subject.
Although the cut off varies each year depending upon the difficulty level of the paper.

Hi,
JEE advanced has sectional cutoff as well as overall cutoff. Last year, the sectional cutoff for each subjects was 5% . This sectional cutoff is calculated based on the total of both paper. This means if minimum 5% is required so student need to get atleast 6 marks in each subject. This means student need to get atleast 6 marks in each subject when the marks are combined from both papers.
I hope this will answer your query.
Thanks!!!!
