aeronautical engineering in my point of view is total fun and excitement, now matter hardships are there in everything but yeah if you have passion you can tackle any situation of your life.
Mechanical engineering is said to be harder in all engineering courses but it must not be neglected that some sources consider aeronautical engineering harder than mechanical engineering, however it has been found that there are some courses which are same in aeronautical as well as mechanical engineering.

Aeronautical Engineering is a bit complex and students need to have their basics clear in physics to have a better understanding. Following one's passion never seems harder until and unless you feel it. Yes there are subjects which need more time and focus to understand.But it is one of the best branches with an excellent scope in future. All the hardwork will be worth.
So,If you are willing to join and interested in the field. I suggest you to go with it.
There are no branches in engineering that can be considered simple and easy. Each have their own importance and need hardwork .
