It is not compulsory to appear for an entrance examination for taking admission in every Indian colleges and universities. The admission to some of the colleges is done on the basis of merit score achieved in 10 + 2 class level board examination. However there are various other colleges and universities as well which offer admission to the bachelor of technology lateral entry on the basis of entrance examination only. The name of these entrance examinations are below:
- AP ECET
- TS ECET
- JELET
- UPSEE Lateral entry
