No, VIT entrance exam (VITEE)  is not tougher than jee mains. Question in mains paper can be expected from deep in concepts and cannot be solved just like that!! VITEEE is easier, level of questions aren't so tough and competition is also lesser compared to mains. If you have gone through the ncert books you can score very good.
